Washington football is bringing in an exciting quarterback through the transfer portal as the Huskies gear up for their second season in the Big Ten. Jedd Fisch’s efforts to rebuild the program, which reached the National Championship just over a year ago, persist following a challenging debut season. The Huskies ended the 2024 season with a 6-7 overall record and a 4-5 mark in conference play.
A key issue for last year’s team was the quarterback position. With sophomore Desmond Williams Jr. expected to start under center for 2025, the Huskies have bolstered their depth at the position. According to Hayes Fawcett, National Recruiting and Transfer Portal Reporter for On3sports, Tulane transfer quarterback Kai Horton has committed to Washington. The 6’4″, 220-pound QB has one year of eligibility left.

Although Horton has limited stats from his time at Tulane, his experience brings value to a Washington team seeking a new identity under Jedd Fisch. Last season proved challenging as the former Arizona head coach undertook a full roster rebuild. Heading into year two, expectations are higher in Seattle for a program that has enjoyed considerable success in recent years.
