Terry Taylor, Charlton Athletic midfielder, has stated that he will need ankle surgery.
The summer transfer from Burton Albion was forced off in the 0-0 draw at Shrewsbury Town.
Taylor also updated his social media platform, X, yesterday.
“Wanted to let all you Addicks fans know that I need ankle surgery after last weekend,” he said.
“This is not how I wanted to begin my time here, but I’m going to work harder to recover and get back on the field.” I’ll stay there with the boys until then!”
The 22-year-old has made seven appearances for the South London club in all competitions.
Taylor also suffered an ankle injury during his previous season, which forced him to miss Burton’s games beginning in February.
“The initial fear is that it’s his ankle, because he rolled it early in the game,” Charlton head coach Michael Appleton revealed immediately after the Shrewsbury encounter.
“A little later, he went knee to knee with one of their players.” He was really sore in a few places.
“The main problem is the ankle.” We don’t know the degree of his injury, but we do know he’ll be gone for a while.”
