JUST IN: Pittsburgh Steelers Blockbuster Signing Of Top Veteran Star $100 million Deal

With the Pittsburgh Steelers’ season concluded, attention now turns to potential offseason roster upgrades.

One key area in need of consideration is the quarterback position. Both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields are set to hit free agency, opening the door for the Steelers to potentially bring in a new starting quarterback.

Top free agent options include Sam Darnold, along with Kirk Cousins, should the Atlanta Falcons fail to secure a trade for the four-time Pro Bowler. Additionally, the Steelers might explore re-signing Wilson or Fields.

The question remains: what will the Steelers decide? NFL analysts are already speculating on their next move.

NFL insiders project Pittsburgh Steelers to re-sign Russell Wilson for around $100 million

Justin Fields guided the Pittsburgh Steelers to a solid 4-2 record as the starting quarterback this season, while Russell Wilson posted a 6-5 record, though his campaign ended with a postseason loss.

The question now is whether either quarterback has done enough to secure a second contract in Pittsburgh. Two NFL analysts suggest Wilson might return but at a significantly higher price than the $1.2 million veteran minimum contract he played under this season.

ESPN’s Dan Graziano and Benjamin Solak recently explored the possibility of the Steelers re-signing Wilson, both proposing the same contract projection for the former Super Bowl champion.

“The Steelers have a favorable view of Wilson and aren’t particularly excited about the alternatives available in the offseason quarterback market. If Wilson is open to a contract resembling the three-year, $100 million deal Baker Mayfield signed with the Buccaneers last year, he could remain with the team for the foreseeable future.”

“The Steelers are expected to re-sign Wilson, but not to a massive contract. There’s little justification for offering the 36-year-old a four-year deal, as it’s unlikely he would receive such terms on the open market. It’s probable he’ll explore free agency, encounter limited interest, and ultimately return to Pittsburgh on a three-year contract similar in value to Mayfield’s. Additionally, I predict the Steelers will select a quarterback within the first three rounds of the April draft.”
