SHOCK!!!: Washington Huskies 5-star Player Leaves Program Unexpectedly

Washington Huskies transfer wide receiver is reportedly leaving the program just weeks after committing.

As reported by Scott Eklund of 247 Sports, top star and head coach Jedd Fisch had a meeting, where they mutually agreed to part ways.

He was transferred from Texas after his sophomore season, announced his commitment to Washington on December 28. However, less than three weeks later, he is already departing the program.

Set to be a junior in 2025, Cook appeared in 20 games for the Longhorns before leaving the team midway through the 2024 season in November, a move Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian described as a “mutual decision.” Over his career, Cook recorded 16 receptions for 273 yards without a touchdown.

A former four-star recruit, Cook’s commitment was considered a significant transfer portal win for Washington. His departure, however, leaves a gap in their wide receiver depth, especially as he was the only player at that position the Huskies secured from the portal. This could prompt the program to seek additional reinforcements to bolster their receiving corps.
