Major Deal: Red Sox Confirms Mouth-watery Deal For Physically Talented All-star Pitcher

The Boston Red Sox made several notable moves this offseason, giving fans reasons to be excited. However, that excitement is tempered by early injury troubles. The team’s starting rotation will be without Lucas Giolito, Brayan Bello, and Kutter Crawford to begin the season, as all three pitchers are dealing with injuries.

With these setbacks, many expect Boston to explore the trade market for reinforcements. Bleacher Report’s Zachary Rymer recently proposed a hypothetical trade that would send Cleveland Guardians pitcher Triston McKenzie to the Red Sox in exchange for struggling infielder Vaughn Grissom.

Proposed Trade:

Red Sox receive: RHP Triston McKenzie
Guardians receive: 2B Vaughn Grissom

Rymer noted that Grissom, who arrived in Boston with hopes of proving himself after the Chris Sale trade, has struggled and is now sidelined. This has allowed Kristian Campbell to step in as the team’s starting second baseman and a potential AL Rookie of the Year candidate.

Meanwhile, Boston’s pitching depth is a major concern, with Giolito, Bello, and Crawford all starting the year on the injured list. McKenzie, though not a frontline starter, could provide stability for the rotation.

For Cleveland, trading McKenzie could be feasible given their depth in pitching. Adding Grissom would bolster their infield, especially with top prospect Travis Bazzana expected to reach the majors in the near future. Since Grissom’s role in Boston appears limited, this deal could benefit both teams.
