Official Deal: Raiders Completes Huge Deal for a Physically Talented Defenseman

The Las Vegas Raiders continue to fine-tune their roster, making another move in free agency by signing defensive tackle, per NFL Media. The 26-year-old lineman, who spent the 2024 season with the New York Jets, visited the Raiders last week before sealing the deal. His addition brings experience and depth to a defensive front looking to solidify its rotation for the upcoming season.

He began his NFL journey with the Arizona Cardinals, who selected him in the fourth round of the 2020 draft out of Utah. He spent four seasons in Arizona, where he carved out a role as a reliable interior presence. First-year general manager John Spytek has made it a priority to bolster the Raiders’ depth this offseason, and Fotu’s arrival fits that strategy perfectly.

Throughout his five-year career, Fotu has played in 58 regular-season games, making 22 starts. He was a key contributor for the Cardinals in 2022 and 2023, starting nine games each season. However, his 2024 campaign with the Jets was cut short due to injury. After beginning the season on injured reserve, he was activated in October but managed to play only two games before being placed back on IR. Now healthy, he’s eager to get back on the field and prove his value.

With the Raiders, Fotu will have a chance to earn a spot in the defensive tackle rotation, adding depth and physicality to the interior line. If he can stay healthy and recapture his form from previous seasons, he could become a valuable piece in Las Vegas’ defensive scheme.
