Just In: Dallas Cowboys land massive red zone threat in blockbuster move

The Dallas Cowboys are in need of a wide receiver, and they might just have gotten the perfect fit.

After an eventful offseason, the Cowboys have addressed several key roster needs, including edge rusher — previously considered their biggest weakness following the departure of DeMarcus Lawrence in free agency.

With that issue resolved, the focus now shifts to wide receiver. According to a recent mock draft by Yahoo Sports, the Cowboys are projected to select Arizona Wildcats wideout Tetairoa McMillan, providing a much-needed red zone target to complement CeeDee Lamb.

“Dallas is set at slot receiver with CeeDee Lamb, but they could use an upgrade on the outside,” Yahoo Sports noted. “Fortunately, McMillan falls right into their lap, potentially giving Dallas an explosive passing game with Dak Prescott returning from injury.”

McMillan had an impressive season with the Wildcats, recording 84 catches for 1,319 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 15.7 yards per reception. He earned consensus All-American and first-team All-Big 12 honors. As a sophomore in 2023, he was even better, with 90 receptions for 1,402 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Arizona Wildcats Superstar Wide Receiver Still Held Out of Practice

What makes McMillan so appealing to scouts isn’t just his stats or athleticism — it’s also his imposing 6-foot-5, 212-pound frame and smooth route-running ability. His size makes him a natural red zone threat, an area where the Cowboys struggled last season.

Despite his towering build, McMillan stands out as one of the top route runners in the 2025 draft class, addressing another pressing need for Dallas. Adding him to a passing attack featuring Lamb and Dak Prescott could give the Cowboys a chance to thrive in 2025.
