The Duke Blue Devils are headed to the Sweet 16 after a dominant 89-66 win over the Baylor Bears, fueled by standout performances from Cooper Flagg and Tyrese Proctor. Duke also cruised past Mount St. Mary’s in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.
Proctor made history during the victory over Baylor, setting a new school record for the most three-pointers made by a Blue Devil through the first two games of the NCAA Tournament. He also recorded the most threes in a three-game stretch for Duke since Jason Williams in 2001, sinking 19 triples dating back to the ACC Tournament title game against Louisville.
Following the record-breaking performance, Flagg praised his teammate, calling Proctor a vital piece of Duke’s success. “I think when Tyrese plays with the type of confidence that he’s been playing with, really this whole second half of the season,” Flagg told March Madness. “Such a talented player, such a weapon for us when he’s being confident, looking for his shot.”
Proctor led the way in Duke’s blowout win over Baylor, finishing with 25 points, one rebound, and two assists. The Blue Devils guard was nearly flawless, shooting 9-of-10 from the field and 7-of-8 from beyond the arc. Both his 25 points and seven made three-pointers marked new career highs.

On the season, Proctor is averaging 12.2 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. Cooper Flagg also made a big impact in the victory, posting 18 points, nine rebounds, and six assists. With the win, Duke advances to the Sweet 16, where they will face the winner of the No. 4 Arizona vs. No. 5 Oregon matchup.
