Done Deal!! Bills Make Best Offseason Move After Completing Multi-million Dollar Deal for Another Top Veteran

If you ask a Buffalo Bills fan about free agency in general, they will invariably mention how general manager Brandon Beane strikes at night to make a splash. In 2020, he made a trade for Stefon Diggs. In 2022, he made arguably the biggest splash in free agency by signing Von Miller to a hefty six-year contract.

He did it again last Tuesday night, when Adam Schefter reported that the Bills and edge rusher had agreed to a one-year contract worth $12.6 million, bringing him to Buffalo.

This came as a surprise when Dianna Russini stated that the San Francisco 49ers and Miami Dolphins were in the running to get him. His younger brother, Nick, already plays for San Francisco, and their father previously played for Miami, so signing with one of those clubs would have made sense. Instead, he chose to come to Buffalo to win.

Bills signing Joey Bosa pinned as Buffalo’s best offseason move right now

Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report compiled a list of each NFL team’s finest offseason moves, and the Bills’ best move was, unsurprisingly, getting the ferocious pass rusher.

“The Bills swung and missed the last time they tried this approach with Von Miller. But if Bosa can stay on the field, he and Gregory Rousseau might form a fearsome combo on the edge.”

Beane made a wise decision by signing Bosa to a one-year contract, avoiding any long-term commitment for now. The Bills learned a tough lesson with Von Miller’s six-year deal, which backfired when he tore his ACL in 2022 and never regained his previous form.

Bosa, being younger, brings a more physical approach to his pass rush compared to Miller. However, it’s important to acknowledge his own history of injuries. That said, when healthy, he is a dominant force on the field, as he demonstrated with the Chargers. While Beane still has time to make another significant move, it’s hard to see anything surpassing the signing of Bosa as Buffalo’s most impactful addition.
