Just In: Vikings Receive Ground-breaking News Regarding Veteran Quarterback Signing

The Vikings saw three veteran quarterbacks leave, and so far, they haven’t added anyone to a depth chart that currently features just J.J. McCarthy and Brett Rypien.

So, what’s the holdup? All signs point to top star. Although there’s been no official visit or public confirmation, several reports have linked him to Minnesota. Like the Steelers and Giants, the Vikings appear to be waiting to see what he decides before exploring other quarterback options.

The question now is: how long will these teams wait? At some point, one or more might decide to move on rather than risk missing out on fallback options while Rodgers weighs his future.

With multiple teams still seeking veteran quarterbacks, the risk of losing a secondary target grows the longer he remains undecided. In Minnesota’s case, it’s unclear who those backup plans might be.

It’s also uncertain if the Vikings are truly ready to hand the starting role to McCarthy. There’s a noticeable hesitation, and it seems they’d prefer someone with more experience—or, at the very least, any meaningful experience.

The Vikings appeared interested in retaining both Sam Darnold and Daniel Jones, but now it’s unclear who they’re truly targeting.

Their quiet approach suggests it’s all about Aaron Rodgers. If he wasn’t on their radar, they likely would have moved on and signed someone else by now.

At this point, Rodgers’ most probable landing spots seem to be either Pittsburgh or Minnesota, and a decision could realistically happen at any moment.

If the Vikings miss out on Rodgers, they’ll have to move fast to secure a fallback option—whether that’s Joe Flacco, Jameis Winston, or another veteran who could either back up McCarthy or possibly start in 2025.
