Huge Relieve: Bills Confirms Two Out-standing Additions: The Big Question , Will They Bring The Desired Change?

When the Buffalo Bills entered free agency last week, they had ample cap space to strengthen their roster in key areas. Even after making notable additions at wide receiver and on the defensive line, the team isn’t finished upgrading. Their latest signings reinforce their commitment to building depth and fostering competition across the board.

Buffalo announced free agent deals with cornerback and offensive lineman. Top star who started all 17 games for the Houston Texans last season, was part of one of the league’s worst offensive lines. While the Bills haven’t lost any starters on the offensive line this offseason, they brought in Green to add much-needed depth at guard.

His career has taken a more unconventional path. Originally a seventh-round pick by the Bills in 2020, he spent four seasons in Buffalo before signing with the Carolina Panthers last offseason. However, an injury during training camp sidelined him for the first half of the season, delaying his return until October 19.

Last season, Jackson played in nine games, making three starts. He recorded 23 tackles (15 solo), one tackle for loss, and two pass breakups.

A former starter for Buffalo in 2022, the Pittsburgh University product recorded 57 tackles (49 solo), one tackle for loss, two interceptions, 12 pass breakups, and a forced fumble that season. Now, he is expected to take over Kaiir Elam’s role as the team’s primary backup cornerback.

Both Green and Jackson are currently considered depth signings, but as past seasons have shown, depth players can take on larger roles as the grind of an NFL season unfolds.
