Orchard Park, N.Y. — Greatness recognized greatness after the Buffalo Bills edged out the Baltimore Ravens 27-25 in the AFC Divisional Round.
Following the final kneel-down, Bills quarterback Josh Allen went straight to Ravens QB Lamar Jackson, and the two shared a brief but meaningful moment. While the cameras didn’t capture their words, Jackson later revealed what he told Allen.
His message?
“Go win.”
“Great players recognize greatness,” Jackson said in the postgame press conference. “We acknowledged each other out there. I told him, ‘Man, go get something, go win something. MVP, Super Bowl—do it all. I want him to succeed.’”
Jackson delivered a strong performance, completing 72% of his passes (18-of-25) for 254 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 39 yards on six carries. However, his two costly turnovers—a lost fumble and an interception—along with another fumble by tight end Mark Andrews, ultimately sealed Baltimore’s fate.
Allen’s numbers were modest by comparison, throwing for 127 yards (16-of-22) and rushing for 20 yards with two touchdowns on 10 carries. Crucially, he avoided turnovers, leading the Bills to victory.
To fulfill Jackson’s challenge and win it all, Allen will need to overcome the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs, a team that’s 3-0 against Buffalo in postseason matchups. While the road ahead won’t be easy, the Bills have consistently defied expectations this season, proving they belong on football’s biggest stage.
