Just In: Sabres Confirms Shocking Update Regarding Rasmus Dahlin

Buffalo Sabres captain Rasmus Dahlin strongly gave a sound message regarding trade speculations.

A clip from the Spittin’ Chiclets podcast began circulating on social media, in which host Paul Bissonnette claimed Dahlin had told Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams that if things didn’t improve quickly, he wanted out. Dahlin addressed the speculation after practice, telling reporters that the claim was completely false.

“I want to be moved? I don’t know what he’s talking about,” Dahlin said. “I have never said I want out of here. I’m not happy with where we’re at. I don’t want to lose. We have to get better. But I’ve never said I want out, and I thought that was pretty clear.”

Dahlin confirmed he had spoken with Adams about the team’s struggles but insisted he never requested a trade. Frustrated by the rumor, he admitted he was “pissed off” by the suggestion.

“I’m part of the problem,” Dahlin said. “I haven’t played well enough. We haven’t won games, so I take responsibility too. But things have to change—bottom line.”

Dahlin, 24, has been with the Sabres since they drafted him first overall in 2018. Now in his first season as captain, he has recorded 11 goals, 40 assists, and 51 points in 55 games.

“Stuff has to change,” Dahlin reiterated. “I absolutely hate losing. That’s not who I want to be, so things have to change.”
