Huge Boost: Notre Dame Flips a Top Physically Talented Star From Top Rivals

A 2026 Texas wide receiver, has already visited Notre Dame three times and is set to return later this month.

“I’ll be there March 29th,” he said. “I love the connections with the people. I love getting up there.” The son of former Green Bay Packers tight end, he has a strong connection to the Midwest.

“I used to live in Green Bay, so it gives me that Midwestern/Green Bay feel,” he explained. “I think that’s what draws me back—just seeing the people again and continuing to learn more about the culture. You can never learn enough about Notre Dame.” He is eager to deepen his understanding of the program.

“The history behind it all,” he said. “That’s really what I’m coming back to see. It’s a very historic place, and I want to learn more about the campus, the college in general, and the football program.”

He’s been in close contact with Notre Dame’s staff, including head coach Marcus Freeman, receivers coach Mike Brown, Director of Recruiting Carter Auman, and general manager Mike Martin.

“Me and Notre Dame have a very tight relationship,” Finley said.

His connection with Martin is new but already promising.

“I love him just based on one phone call,” he said. “He’s a very smart football guy—I can hear it. He’s very energetic too, and I think he’ll be a great general manager for Notre Dame. I’m excited to build that connection when I visit on the 29th.” Finley also has visits scheduled to Arizona State and Louisville this month.

“Right now, I’m planning all my spring visits and then setting my official visits,” he said. “I have a couple set already, but I’ll wait to release them. I’m narrowing down my list and expect to make a decision after my official visits, before my senior season.”

Finley holds offers from Notre Dame, Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Georgia, Miami, Penn State, UCLA, Oregon, and several others. While the competition is fierce, the Irish appear to be in a strong position.
