Huge Boost: Bills Acquires an Incredible Talent In a Major Blockbuster Trade

The Buffalo Bills, like most NFL teams, watched as the Philadelphia Eagles dominated the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl with an outstanding defensive performance. Despite being consistent contenders, the Bills have struggled in the postseason and now face the pressing question of whether their current roster is enough to take them to a championship.

This offseason, the front office has been active in securing key players, with Khalil Shakir, Greg Rousseau, and Terrel Bernard all receiving contract extensions. However, their work isn’t done. With Myles Garrett openly expressing his desire for a trade, nearly every team has been linked to him. Acquiring one of the league’s top defensive stars would require a significant trade package, but the Bills could certainly use more pass-rushing help. Even offensive tackle Dion Dawkins has publicly supported the idea of bringing Garrett to Buffalo. Still, pulling off a deal for the four-time All-Pro and former Defensive Player of the Year would be a major challenge.

On the Chris Simms Unbuttoned podcast, Connor Rogers emphasized that a player like Garrett could be the key to the Bills’ playoff success. “I don’t know why the Browns would do it, they’d have to get a massive price,” Rogers said. “The Bills need to get over the hump, and the biggest way to improve your roster is by adding a game-changing defensive lineman.” Pairing Garrett with Rousseau would create a formidable pass-rushing duo, but beyond the high trade cost, Buffalo would also have to find a way to fit Garrett’s hefty contract under the cap.

According to Over The Cap, the Bills are currently $8 million over the salary cap, meaning general manager Brandon Beane would need to make significant financial moves to make the trade feasible. While the idea of Garrett joining Buffalo is intriguing, it remains a long shot unless major changes occur. The Bills need reinforcements on both offense and defense, but as of now, landing Garrett in 2025 seems unlikely—though in the NFL, surprises can always happen.
