Duke Makes Historic Jon Scheyer Announcement Before ACC Tournament

Jon Scheyer and the Duke Blue Devils wrapped up the regular season as the ACC’s No. 1 seed, finishing with a 28-3 overall record and a dominant 19-1 mark in conference play. They closed out the season with an 82-69 victory over North Carolina. Following the win, Duke’s official social media account highlighted a milestone for Scheyer, who has been leading the program for three seasons. With 82 wins, Scheyer now holds the record for the most victories by any coach in ACC history through his first three seasons, surpassing North Carolina’s Bill Guthridge, who won 80 games from 1998 to 2000.

Taking over from legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski, who guided Duke to 13 regular-season titles, 15 ACC tournament championships, and five national titles from 1980 to 2022, Scheyer faced immense expectations. Now, with the regular season behind them, the Blue Devils are set to enter the ACC Tournament as the top seed. They will receive a bye for the first two rounds and will begin their tournament run in the quarterfinals on March 13.
