JUST IN: Duke basketball 5-star player makes big commitment decision to join rival program

Duke basketball has hosted the top uncommitted 2025 prospect multiple times, but it likely won’t be his final official visit.

Over the past five weeks, elite 2025 Duke target Nate Ament has taken official visits to both Duke and Kentucky. With an April 1 commitment date in mind, the five-star forward from Highland School (Va.) is now set to visit Arkansas this weekend.

According to Rivals Arkansas recruiting insider Jackson Collier, first-year Razorbacks head coach John Calipari and his staff could be the last to host Ament before he makes his decision.

Last week, Ament narrowed his choices to a final five: Duke, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisville, and Tennessee.

Ranked No. 4 overall, No. 2 among power forwards, and No. 1 in Virginia in the 247Sports 2025 Composite, Ament possesses significant upside.

“His potential for improvement is striking,” 247Sports’ Adam Finkelstein wrote. “He needs to get stronger, play more aggressively, and refine his overall skill set, but he has all the tools to develop into a versatile 6-foot-9-plus perimeter forward with three-level scoring ability.”

Duke head coach Jon Scheyer and his staff already hold the No. 1-ranked 2025 recruiting class, featuring four five-star commitments.
