Breaking; Done Deal: Sabres Officially Completes Deal For A Top Experienced Veteran Star

The Buffalo Sabres face a key decision regarding forward. As a pending unrestricted free agent, top star has made it clear he wants to stay in Buffalo, but it’s uncertain if both sides will reach a deal before the March 7 deadline.

“My time here has been incredible. I love this team and the direction Kevyn and Lindy Ruff are taking it. I’m fully committed. As a veteran, I enjoy helping the younger players understand what it takes to make the playoffs. It’s inspiring. Playing in this city has been an amazing experience, and I’d love to stay next year.”

Sabres and Greenway Working on a Contract Extension

NHL insider Pierre LeBrun reports that initial contract discussions have occurred between Greenway’s camp and the Sabres. The 26-year-old winger is in the final year of his $3 million deal and has expressed a strong willingness to sign an extension. However, he is also drawing significant trade interest.

Ultimately, Greenway’s contract negotiations will hinge on salary and term. AFP Analytics projects his next deal to be around four years at $3.8 million per season, though that number could rise in free agency. The big question is whether the Sabres are willing to meet that price. If they neither trade him nor finalize an extension by the deadline, it would suggest they’re confident a deal can still be reached.

Meanwhile, Greenway remains focused on hockey, tuning out trade rumors and social media speculation. When asked how he’d feel about staying in Buffalo past the deadline without a new contract, his response was straightforward: “It’s got to be. I’ve got no choice.”
