JUST IN: Georgia Bulldogs Add More Sophistication To Bullpen As They Land Another Key-star In Transfer Portal

Georgia has reportedly been in communication with former North Carolina quarterback, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. The Bulldogs are among the programs that have “reached out” to him as he explores his options.

Top star entered the transfer portal earlier this week as a graduate transfer, marking the next step in his collegiate journey. The quarterback recently completed his fifth season in college football, including four at North Carolina. Initially, Criswell served as a backup to Sam Howell and Drake Maye during his first three years in Chapel Hill. He later transferred to Arkansas, where he largely played behind KJ Jefferson.

Returning to UNC in 2024, Criswell stepped into a starting role for much of the season after Max Johnson suffered a season-ending injury. During the year, Criswell completed 58.1% of his passes, throwing for 2,459 yards, 15 touchdowns, and six interceptions.

Georgia has reportedly expressed interest in Criswell as they work to solidify their quarterback situation for 2024. While Criswell could emerge as a potential starter, he might also be viewed as a depth addition by Kirby Smart and his coaching staff. With Carson Beck and Jaden Rashada both in the transfer portal, Georgia’s 2025 quarterback room currently consists of four scholarship players: Gunner Stockton, Ryan Puglisi, Ryan Montgomery, and Hezekiah Millender.

Criswell has not set a timeline for making his decision.
