BLOCKBUSTER NEWS: Virginia Tech Lands Groundbreaking Commitment For Top Versatile Star

Virginia Tech head coach Brent Pry is continuing to bolster his 2025 football roster.  A defensive lineman from Texas State, announced his commitment to join the Hokies.

A 6-foot-2, 255-pound defensive lineman, brings significant experience to Virginia Tech’s roster. After starting his college career at Louisiana Tech, Bell transferred to Texas State, where he spent the past three seasons. Despite playing only four games last season, Bell preserved a redshirt year and will have one more season to play. A native of Cedar Park, Texas, Bell comes to Blacksburg with impressive stats, including 31 tackles for loss and 19 sacks.

Bell was a key addition to the Hokies’ transfer class, ranked by On3 as a four-star transfer. He chose Virginia Tech over offers from schools like Ole Miss, Minnesota, Baylor, and Kansas. With the departure of All-American Antwaun Powell-Ryland, who registered 16 sacks last season, and Cole Nelson, Virginia Tech has a need for edge rushers. Bell, along with fellow transfer James Djonkam and Keyshawn Burgos, are among the favorites to start next fall.

Bell is the 18th transfer to join the Hokies, and his commitment highlights the strength of Virginia Tech’s transfer class, which has come together even without a defensive coordinator in place. An announcement regarding the new defensive coordinator could be made soon. Welcome to Virginia Tech, Ben!
