BREAKING NEWS: Packers Acquire Free Agent WR with 28 Touchdowns to Help Jordan Love

The Green Bay Packers will need to make aggressive moves at the wide receiver position this offseason. This became increasingly clear as quarterback Jordan Love struggled to replicate his impressive 2023 season, with the team’s receiver issues becoming more apparent due to mounting injuries late in the season and during their NFC Wild Card loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

With Christian Watson sidelined by a torn ACL sustained in Week 18 and his availability for the 2025 season in serious doubt, the Packers may need to target top-tier options in the free-agent market.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver stands out as a logical top target for Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst. However, he isn’t the only high-profile receiver Green Bay should consider as they aim to strengthen the supporting cast around Jordan Love, including promising talents like Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, and Dontayvion Wicks.

Could the Packers Sign Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown?

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown could be an ideal target for the Packers, particularly if the veteran opts for a one-year “prove-it” deal after missing significant time this season. Justis Mosqueda of Acme Packing Company highlighted Brown as one of several potential targets for Green Bay.

“Marquise Brown’s situation is quite intriguing,” writes Justis Mosqueda. “After spending three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, Brown was traded to the Arizona Cardinals for a first-round pick. Over two seasons there, he totaled 118 receptions for 1,283 yards and seven touchdowns. In 2024, he aimed to prove his worth with the Kansas City Chiefs on a ‘prove-it’ deal but suffered a collarbone injury that limited him to just two regular-season games. Brown fits the profile of a field-stretching receiver the Packers need to replace Christian Watson’s snaps, as Watson is expected to miss at least three-quarters of the next season with his ACL injury.”

Brown would undoubtedly address the Packers’ need for a big-play threat in the receiving corps, having caught 322 passes for 3,735 yards and 28 touchdowns over his first six seasons. Additionally, he would bring valuable veteran leadership to complement the team’s young and developing group of receivers.

No matter who the Packers end up signing, expect Green Bay to be proactive in pursuing wide receivers later this spring.
