Done Deal!!: Eagles Ends Super Bowl Celebration With a Ground-breaking Recruit

Philadelphia was in full celebration mode after the Eagles secured their second Super Bowl title in eight seasons. While players and fans reveled in the victory, the organization faced a significant change. Offensive coordinator Kellen Moore was hired as the next head coach of the New Orleans Saints, leaving the Eagles in search of a new offensive play-caller.

Despite the change, head coach Nick Sirianni is no stranger to this situation, having faced it in two of the last three seasons. After the 2022 season, the Eagles lost offensive coordinator Shane Steichen and hired Brian Johnson, but Johnson struggled and was fired after the 2023 season.

While Johnson was promoted from within, his lack of play-calling experience was a factor in his departure. This time, Sirianni has chosen to promote Kevin Patullo, who brings much more experience to the role. With Patullo stepping up, the Eagles needed to find a new passing game coordinator. On Wednesday, Tom Pelissero reported that Philadelphia hired Parks Frazier for the position.

Last week was a time of celebration for the city of Philadelphia following the Eagles’ second Super Bowl victory in eight seasons. However, while players and fans alike enjoyed celebrating, the Eagles organization was undergoing some change.

Offensive coordinator Kellen Moore was hired as the New Orleans Saints’ next head coach, leaving the team to search for a new offensive signal caller. Nonetheless, head coach Nick Sirianni has been in this position in two of the previous three seasons. After the 2022 season, the Eagles lost OC Shane Steichen and hired Brian Johnson. However, Johnson ended up failing and was fired after the 2023 season.

Although Johnson was promoted from within the staff, he didn’t have much experience calling plays. This time around, Sirianni promoted a coach with much more experience, Kevin Patullo. Patullo’s promotion meant Philadelphia had to fill its passing game coordinator position. On Wednesday, Tom Pelissero reported that the Eagles hired Parks Frazier as their new passing game coordinator.

Frazier has been coaching in the NFL since 2018. The 33-year-old began his career as the assistant to the head coach with the Indianapolis Colts, a role he held through the 2019 season. In 2020, he was promoted to offensive quality control coach.

By 2021, Frazier took over as the Colts’ quarterbacks coach, a position he held until midway through the 2022 season. In Week 9 of that year, he stepped in as Indianapolis’ interim offensive coordinator.

Under Frazier’s leadership, the Colts’ offense produced 57 points, 989 total yards, and 2,462 rushing yards. While Indianapolis struggled in 2022, their offensive performance was not to blame for the team’s overall record.

The following season, Frazier was hired as the Carolina Panthers’ passing game coordinator. While things didn’t go as planned in Carolina, much of the team’s struggles were due to organizational issues rather than Frazier’s coaching.

In 2024, he joined Mike McDaniel’s staff in Miami as an offensive assistant. Although the Dolphins had an underwhelming season, working under McDaniel provided Frazier with another valuable coaching experience. Despite being just 33 years old, Frazier has built an impressive résumé, making him a strong addition to the Eagles’ coaching staff.
