The Philadelphia Eagles have re-signed cornerback to a reserve/future contract following their Super Bowl victory. Woods initially joined the Washington Commanders for training camp but was released before the season. The Eagles quickly added him to their practice squad, where he remained for the entire season.
A native of Germantown, Maryland, Woods was a standout on the Pittsburgh Panthers’ defense for five seasons. Despite not receiving an NFL Combine invite, he impressed scouts with a 4.35-second 40-yard dash at Pitt’s pro day — a time that would have ranked fifth among cornerbacks at the Combine.
During his college career, Woods recorded four interceptions, eight tackles for loss, 25 passes defended, and 105 total tackles.
Now 23, Woods hopes his collegiate experience and athleticism will earn him a spot on the field in the NFL. While he spent his rookie season on the Eagles’ practice squad, he has yet to play in an NFL game and will aim to make his debut in 2025.
