‘LOCKED-IN’: Louisville land major commitment for top talented 4-star prospect

The University of Louisville has strengthened its 2026 recruiting class with the commitment of four-star running back Kaydin “K.D.” Jones. A standout from Jenks High School in Oklahoma, Jones is regarded as one of the top prospects in his class.

At 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, Jones has been a dominant force throughout his high school career. As a junior, he rushed for 1,476 yards and 17 touchdowns on 229 carries while also catching 24 passes for 256 yards and four scores. Over three seasons, he has compiled nearly 4,000 rushing yards and 43 touchdowns.

Jones chose Louisville over Kansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt, making his decision particularly notable given his strong ties to Oklahoma—his father, Kejuan Jones, was a standout running back for the Sooners under Bob Stoops.

Head coach Jeff Brohm and running backs coach Chris Barclay played a key role in securing Jones’ commitment. He received an offer in April 2024 and made both unofficial and official visits to Louisville, including attending the Cardinals’ game against Miami. The coaching staff also visited him at home earlier this week, reinforcing their dedication to his development.

Beyond football, Jones has showcased impressive speed in track and field, recording times of 23.24 seconds in the 200 meters and 50.21 seconds in the 400 meters as a freshman.

His commitment adds to Louisville’s growing 2026 class, which already includes edge rusher Jon Adams, linebacker Brady Ballart, defensive lineman Sam Dawson, offensive lineman Max Merz, and two-way player Emoni Smith.

With his speed, agility, and football IQ, Jones is expected to make an immediate impact when he arrives on campus, further solidifying Louisville’s future on the field.
