News Flash: Georgia Confirms Ground-breaking New Regarding Malaki Starks

With the NFL Combine just around the corner, the NFL Draft is also fast approaching. As usual, the Georgia Bulldogs have a strong group of players expected to hear their names called over the three-day event. However, based on current projections, several of them won’t have to wait long to see their NFL dreams come true.

NFL.com’s Cynthia Frelund recently released her latest mock draft, using a model that predicts which prospects would generate the most wins for each franchise. For former Georgia standout, Frelund projects the Miami Dolphins as the best fit. Here’s what she had to say about the pick:

“The Dolphins face several key decisions this offseason across their defense,” Frelund wrote. “Jevon Holland is set to become a free agent and will likely secure a lucrative, well-earned contract. If he moves on, Starks would be an ideal replacement in Miami’s secondary. The Dolphins could also consider a wide receiver here, given the uncertainty surrounding Tyreek Hill’s future with the team.”

Starks made an immediate impact at Georgia, showcasing his talent with an incredible interception against Oregon in his first game as a true freshman in 2022. From that point on, he became a key defensive player. Over his college career, he recorded six interceptions, six tackles for loss, and 197 total tackles. In his junior season, Starks displayed his versatility, lining up at safety, STAR, and even in the slot—qualities that make him a highly coveted prospect in this year’s draft.
