The Carolina Panthers have officially confirmed the addition of wide receiver to their roster. The former Washington Commanders wideout joins the Panthers on a reserve/future contract, providing him an opportunity to compete for a spot in the upcoming offseason program.
He went undrafted in 2023, spent the past two seasons on Washington’s practice squad. A 6-foot-4, 212-pound receiver, he offers notable size and potential as the Panthers look to improve their receiving corps for the 2025 season.
A former standout at Stanford, Brycen Tremayne built a reputation as a reliable possession receiver with strong hands and solid route-running ability. During his collegiate career, he tallied 74 receptions for 953 yards and 12 touchdowns despite battling injuries that limited his playing time. His resilience and work ethic earned him a chance in the NFL, and he has since been working to establish himself at the professional level.
By signing a reserve/future contract, Tremayne will be eligible to participate in the Panthers’ offseason workouts, OTAs, and training camp. These contracts are typically given to players whom teams see as developmental prospects with potential to earn a spot on the 53-man roster or practice squad.
The Panthers, coming off a disappointing 2024 campaign, are focused on retooling their roster under new leadership. Strengthening the wide receiver group has been a priority, especially with young quarterback Bryce Young in need of additional weapons. Tremayne’s size and ability to make contested catches could provide an intriguing option in the passing attack.
With the offseason in full swing, Tremayne will now have the opportunity to prove himself and carve out a role in Carolina’s offense as the team prepares for the 2025 season.
