BREAKING: St. Louis Cardinals Confirm 4X All-Star Won’t Return for 2025 Season

The St. Louis Cardinals have made several significant announcements as they prepare for the 2025 Major League Baseball season. From scheduling details to roster changes, the organization is setting the stage for what promises to be a pivotal year.

Jim Edmonds, a Hall of Famer, will leave the St. Louis Cardinals’ TV broadcast team next season.

The Cardinals’ TV home, FanDuel Sports Network, confirmed to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch over the weekend that Edmonds will not be featured in any future broadcasts.

“Jim Edmonds will not be returning to our St. Louis Cardinals telecasts this season,” according to the announcement. “We want to thank Jim for his many contributions to our Cardinals coverage over the last 10 seasons and wish him the best.”

Edmonds, who played eight seasons for the Cardinals and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2014, worked as a broadcaster for them for 12 years.

Edmonds began working as a pregame and postgame analyst for FanDuel’s predecessor, Fox Sports Midwest, in 2013. Three years later, the four-time All-Star began doing game broadcasts for the network.

Edmonds, one of baseball’s more colorful analysts, was known for his forthright opinions, which many fans loved but also sparked controversy at times. Last season, Edmonds’ commentary was chastised after he complained about Christopher Morel’s home run celebration. In 2023, Edmonds sparked outrage during a debate over Native American team names.

Edmonds’ departure from FanDuel Sports Network marks his second TV departure in recent years, following stints on The Real Housewives of Orange County, which starred his ex-wife Meghan King. Edmonds and King got divorced in 2021.
