BREAKING: Former Auburn QB Sends ‘Controversial’ Message To Auburn Program after Signing Rivals

The Auburn Tigers have the third-best transfer portal class, with 16 transfers and 18 losses. One of Auburn’s major losses was former quarterback Walker White, who transferred to Baylor on December 28. An Auburn Instagram account shared a comment from White, who had a message for his old teammates. White was ranked seventh among quarterbacks in the On3 Industry Rankings for 2024.

He has appeared in one game for the Tigers this season. Auburn and Baylor face off to start the 2025 season, and White claimed he would defeat his former team. “I’m planning on giving Auburn their first loss of the season,” White said.

A former Auburn athlete quickly responded to White’s comments. Former Auburn cornerback Jaylin Simpson gave White a four-word note. Simpson attended Auburn from 2019 to 23 and currently plays in the NFL with the New York Jets. “I hope you play,” Simpson stated.

Baylor lost quarterback DeQuan Finn to the transfer portal, and starter Sawyer Roberton has declared for the 2025 NFL draft. This puts White in position to contend for the starting job with the Bears. Three-star quarterback Edward Griffin has committed to Baylor’s 2025 recruiting class. White is the only transfer commit for the Bears at quarterback. Baylor added ten players from the portal and lost eleven.

Key signings include former Alabama receiver Kobe Prentice, former Oregon safety Tyler Turner, former Oregon linebacker Emar’rion Winston, and former Tulane edge rusher Matthew Fobbs-White. The Bears began the season 2-4, but recovered and went on a six-game winning streak to reach the bowl game at 8-4. Baylor finished the season 8-5 after falling to LSU 44-31 in the Texas Bowl.
