While the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles prepare for Super Bowl LIX, the NFL announced some fines from conference championship weekend. Before Super Bowl LIX, the Chiefs played the Buffalo Bills, while the Eagles faced the Washington Commanders. In a 32-29 loss to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game, Bills standout Matt Milano was called for an unnecessary roughness penalty with roughly six minutes left in the fourth quarter. The NFL announced that Milano has been fined $11,255 for the unnecessary roughness penalty, which involved a face mask and resulted in a 15-yard penalty that benefited the Chiefs.

Milano concluded the AFC Championship Game against the Chiefs with one quarterback hit, one tackle for loss, one sack, and the second-most overall tackles on the Bills squad (9). Despite Milano’s efforts, Buffalo suffered its fourth consecutive playoff loss to a Patrick Mahomes-led Chiefs club. The Bills finished the playoffs with victories over the Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens, but lost a nail-biter against the Chiefs. They finished 15-5 overall, including the postseason. Following the Milano announcement, a few more players were fined during conference title weekend, including Jordan Phillips (Bills), Travis Kelce (Chiefs), A.J. Brown (Eagles), Jalen Carter (Eagles), and Benjamin St. Juste (Commanders).
