Major Recruitment Update: Huskies Make The Cut For Some Of Their Top Targets

As the Huskies continue spring practice, recruiting remains in full swing, especially for the 2026 class. Recently, a couple of their top targets have narrowed down their lists of schools, with Washington still in the mix.

Three-star tight end Landen Miree from Princeton High School in Ohio has been a priority target for UW for some time. Ranked as the 36th best tight end nationally, Miree holds offers from schools across the country. He has recently cut his list to FSU, North Carolina, LSU, Auburn, UW, and Cincinnati. During a junior day visit, Miree had the chance to interact with other Husky recruits and tour the campus. He’s scheduled an official visit to UW for June 20th, and it’s likely that the Huskies are in a strong position for his commitment.

Three-star offensive tackle Dominic Harris from Ed W. Clark High School in Nevada has also narrowed his options to an eight-school list, including Arizona, Arkansas, ASU, Auburn, Cal, UNLV, Utah, and UW. At 6’7” and 335 pounds, Harris is a highly coveted prospect, ranked 49th among offensive tackles and second in Nevada. The Huskies were among the first to offer him, and they’ve been recruiting him heavily ever since. He’s set to take an official visit to UW on May 30th, with the Huskies hoping to add at least one offensive tackle to the 2026 class. Harris has the potential to develop into a top-tier player after a year or two in a college program.

The Huskies also hosted a couple of targets for unofficial visits this weekend to get a look at spring practice. One of those visitors was three-star quarterback Derek Zammit from DePaul Catholic High School in New Jersey. While there hasn’t been much buzz about UW being involved with Zammit, it appears they are one of his top schools, alongside Alabama and Ohio State. The Huskies are looking to add one quarterback to the 2026 class, and it will be interesting to see whether they land Zammit or four-star quarterback Brady Smigiel, who has been a major target. Zammit shares similarities with recent Husky quarterbacks like Demond Williams and Dash Beierly, both in terms of physical traits and the style of play they bring to the offense.

Three-star twins Beau and Niko Jandreau from Hamilton High School in Arizona also made the trip to Montlake this weekend to visit the Huskies. Both brothers are top targets for UW, with Niko being recruited as a defensive back and Beau as a linebacker. While Oklahoma currently appears to be in the lead for both, the Huskies are set to host them for official visits at the end of May. Beau has official visits lined up with Oklahoma, Oregon, and USC, while Niko will visit Oklahoma, SDSU, and Iowa State.
