The Duke Blue Devils, once led by legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski, are now guided by Jon Scheyer, who has positioned the team as a strong national title contender. With Duke preparing for a Final Four showdown against the Houston Cougars, Scheyer recently appeared on The Pat McAfee Show to discuss the significance of the Duke brotherhood. He highlighted Krzyzewski’s ongoing influence within the program and expressed gratitude for having access to one of college basketball’s greatest minds. “Coach K is a huge part of the Duke brotherhood, and I’m lucky to have him to talk to,” Scheyer said. “Duke is all that I know, and the passion from all of the former players is incredible.”
Mike Krzyzewski served as Duke’s head coach from 1980 to 2022, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest figures in NCAA history. Over his tenure, he guided the Blue Devils to five national championships, 13 Final Four appearances, and 15 ACC Tournament titles. Before taking the helm at Duke, Krzyzewski was the head coach at Army from 1975 to 1980 and previously worked as an assistant coach at Indiana during the 1974-75 season.

Jon Scheyer has been at the helm of Duke’s basketball program for the past three seasons, guiding the team to a Final Four appearance and a previous run to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament. This season, the Blue Devils are led by standout freshman Cooper Flagg, a finalist for the Naismith Player of the Year award. Flagg has been dominant, leading the team in multiple categories with averages of 18.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.4 steals per game.
