The Duke Blue Devils arguably had the most talented team in college basketball, but they were ultimately stopped in the NCAA Tournament.
Even with a loaded lineup that looked dominant on both offense and defense—and standout freshman Cooper Flagg—Duke couldn’t avoid falling to the Houston Cougars in the Final Four.
Their impressive March Madness run included victories over Mount St. Mary’s, Baylor, Arizona, and Alabama, but it came to an end just shy of the national championship game.
After the season ended, Duke shared a message of gratitude on social media, thanking the players, coaching staff, and fans. “Shoutout to a squad that represented Duke Basketball at the highest level,” the post read.
Duke secured the ACC regular season championship, and a few players have a chance to raise their stock in the SEC Tournament.
Flagg helped lead his team to the No. 1 seed in the East Region, posting averages of 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game along the way.

Flagg spearheaded a gifted freshman class that included Kon Kneuppel and Khaman Maluach, each regarded among the top newcomers in the country.
Although Duke fell short of winning the national championship, reaching the Final Four capped off what was still a highly successful season.
