After selecting top star in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft and adding Jaylen Wright with their 2024 fourth-round pick, the Miami Dolphins may be poised to draft another running back for the third consecutive year. This comes after Raheem Mostert’s departure via free agency. The Dolphins are reportedly exploring options, including meeting with former MAC Offensive Player of the Year. According to Justin Melo of The Draft Network, a 6-0, 225-pound back with a low 4.5 40-yard dash, has recently met with teams like the Arizona Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Dolphins.
He has had an eventful college career, playing at Maryland, Toledo, and UCF. He was named the 2023 MAC Offensive Player of the Year after rushing for 1,400 yards and 15 touchdowns in his second season at Toledo. However, his production fell off significantly during his senior year at UCF, where he served as a backup to RJ Harvey. Boone finished the season with only 34 rush attempts, accumulating 208 yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the drop in production, Boone remains a draft prospect, with several NFL teams showing interest. In a conversation with Justin Melo, Boone shared that he’s met with multiple teams, including the Arizona Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers, Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he has upcoming local visits to Tampa Bay and Detroit.

While the Dolphins have pressing needs on the offensive line, defensive line, and secondary, they could still consider a late-round selection of Boone, especially given his previous high-level performance and the potential value of taking a flyer on him late in the draft.
