The Miami Dolphins are eager to get back on track after missing the playoffs last season with an 8-9 record. Much of their struggles can be attributed to injuries, with star wide receiver Tyreek Hill battling a persistent wrist issue and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa sidelined due to a concerning head injury.
The injury issues weren’t limited to just Hill and Tagovailoa. Left tackle Terron Armstead recently revealed the severity of his knee condition. According to Pro Football Network, Armstead shared that doctors recommended a knee replacement, stating there were no other viable options like surgery or injections.
“I left that day, on a Monday, I went home and I just sat with that — like there’s one thing I didn’t want to leave the game with. It’s permanent damage,” Armstead said, reflecting on the gravity of the situation. The toll of these injuries, both physical and mental, appears to have led Armstead to the difficult decision of retiring from the game.
After a stellar 12-year NFL career, including five Pro Bowl selections, Terron Armstead has officially announced his retirement, as reported by ESPN’s Marcel Louis-Jacques. Armstead made the announcement at a party attended by former teammates like Drew Brees, Calais Campbell, Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill, and more.

This is a significant blow for the Dolphins, as Armstead was expected to play a crucial role in protecting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa from further head injuries. The Dolphins will now need to adjust their offensive line and find a way to address this gap moving forward. It’ll be interesting to see how Miami rebounds from this tough setback.
