Ground-breaking Recruit: Georgia Lands Hall of Famer’s Son in Late Move

While the Georgia Bulldogs are focused on their 2026 recruiting efforts, they’ve also made a low-key but notable addition for the 2025 season. As Georgia looks to reclaim the national championship after missing out on the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff, they’ve secured a commitment from a legacy player—defensive lineman. The son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Richard Seymour, London has chosen to follow in his father’s footsteps and play for Georgia, according to Dawgs247.

Seymour, a North Gwinnett (Ga.) product, plans to enroll this summer after receiving offers from Boston College, Colorado, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, and Marshall. Initially, he was set to sign with Boston College, a school with ties to his father’s NFL career, as Richard Seymour won three Super Bowls with the New England Patriots.

Before adding Seymour, Georgia had already bolstered its defensive line class with five-star Elijah Griffin (the No. 3 overall prospect per On3’s industry rankings) and three-star Jayden-Jamal Hanne. Seymour, a three-star recruit himself, ranks 123rd among defensive linemen in the 2025 class, per 247Sports. In his senior season, he tallied 58 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, six sacks, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and a pass deflection while playing defensive tackle.

Though he may need time before seeing significant playing time at Georgia, having another Seymour in a Bulldogs uniform is sure to bring back fond memories for fans.
