Commitment!! 6-foot-7 4-Star TE says Alabama loves him: ‘They say they need a guy like me’

Kaiden Prothro, a towering 6-foot-7, 210-pound tight end from Bowdon High School in Georgia, has garnered significant attention in the 2026 recruiting class. Recently, he announced his top five college choices: Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, and Texas.

Alabama’s coaching staff has expressed a strong interest in Prothro, emphasizing his unique skill set. Prothro noted, “Coach was telling me that they don’t have no guys like me, just some in-line guys, who just go out and catch passes, but they can still run when they need guys to split out and just do their thing.” He added, ‘they say they need a guy like me’ and “I feel like what they are doing this year with their tight ends having a bunch of catches, just making plays, see myself out there just splitting out wide, just making even bigger catches and running the offense.”

Reflecting on Alabama’s football legacy, Prothro stated, “Bama is always going to be Bama football. They’re known for winning, known for getting after the opponent’s tail. I feel like Bama’s always just going to be a top contender in the SEC and just college football.”
In addition to Alabama, Prothro has official visits lined up with Georgia, Auburn, and Florida, indicating a keen interest in Southeastern Conference programs.
As Prothro continues to evaluate his options, his combination of size, athleticism, and versatility makes him a coveted prospect for these top-tier football programs.
