Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback is set to enter free agency this March, following his trade to the team last offseason. In his single season with the Steelers, he started strong but saw his performance decline as the season progressed. While his future with the team remains uncertain, he has expressed a desire to return.
During an appearance on the Christian Kuntz Podcast, he reflected on his time in Pittsburgh, sharing that he enjoyed his experience and would be thrilled to rejoin the team.
“I hope I’m back,” Jackson said. “Another free agency is coming up. I’m just grateful to be in this position, signing a third contract. Most guys don’t even get to their second. It’s a blessing to have this opportunity for myself and my family. We love Pittsburgh, but at the end of the day, business is business.”

Jackson missed two games late in the season due to a lingering back injury, which contributed to his decline in physicality and overall performance. Despite a hot start, injuries took a toll on his play. He joined the Steelers via a trade with the Carolina Panthers in the Diontae Johnson deal but struggled as the team’s second cornerback toward the end of the season.
This year, Jackson recorded a career-high five interceptions, yet his future role with the Steelers, if any, remains unclear. The team may pursue new talent at both outside and slot cornerback positions. If Jackson does return, it’s likely to be on a budget-friendly deal, possibly as a veteran placeholder or a depth option.
