For the second time in under 24 hours, Washington football has secured a commitment from a 2026 defensive back.
A 6-foot-1, 170-pound cornerback from Mount Tahoma High, announced his pledge to Washington. He becomes the seventh player in UW’s 2026 recruiting class, following IMG Academy defensive back Ksani Jiles, who committed.
A three-star prospect, is ranked No. 11 in Washington and No. 75 nationally at his position, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. However, 247Sports itself ranks him as the No. 7 player in the state. He held offers from several programs, including Arizona, Arizona State, California, Cincinnati, Illinois, Michigan State, and Wisconsin.
247Sports national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins described him as a physical player who effectively uses his length in contested situations. He highlighted his strong technique and ability to break on the ball without relying on excessive contact, which is common among young cornerbacks.
He joins a Washington secondary set to undergo major turnover in 2026, as the Huskies are expected to lose key contributors after the 2025 season. Presumed starters Ephesians Prysock and Tacario Davis, along with nickel Dyson McCutcheon, are all likely to exhaust their eligibility. Additionally, five UW cornerbacks entered the transfer portal during the winter window, including Thaddeus Dixon, Elijah Jackson, Jordan Shaw, Curley Reed III, and Darren Barkins.
In 2025, Washington’s cornerback depth will consist of sophomores Caleb Presley and Leroy Bryant, redshirt freshman Elias Johnson, and true freshmen Dylan Robinson, D’Aryhian Clemons, and Ramonz Adams.
Biggins praised Durr’s ball skills, noting that his experience playing wide receiver at Mount Tahoma will benefit him at the next level. However, he mentioned that improving his top-end speed will be crucial for covering faster receivers in college.
Durr’s commitment also reinforces head coach Jedd Fisch’s emphasis on recruiting in-state talent. He becomes the fourth Washington native in the Huskies’ 2026 class, joining linebacker Wassie Lugolobi (Eastside Catholic), athlete Terrance Saryon (Evergreen High), and lineman Ah Deong Yang (Roosevelt High).
Washington may not be finished adding local prospects. Durr recently visited campus for UW’s junior weekend alongside top in-state recruits like edge rusher Derek Colman-Brusa (Kennedy Catholic), defensive linemen David Schwerzel and Fameitau Siale (O’Dea), and linebacker Ramzak Fruean (Bethel).

Fisch has significantly ramped up Washington’s in-state recruiting efforts compared to his previous stops. The Huskies secured five local commitments in the 2025 cycle, including Zaydrius Rainey-Sale (Bethel), Jonathan Epperson Jr. (Auburn Riverside), D’Aryhian Clemons (Spanaway Lake), Victor Sanchez Hernandez (Kamiak), and Lowen Colman-Brusa (Kennedy Catholic).
This marks a shift from Fisch’s earlier recruiting history in Washington, where he signed only two players before arriving at UW. His emphasis on local talent now surpasses that of former coach Kalen DeBoer, who signed six Washington natives over three cycles.
