Jon Scheyer and his coaching staff have officially entered offseason mode following the end of the NCAA Tournament—and they may be facing a major roster overhaul. There’s a real possibility that Duke’s entire starting lineup from the 2024-25 season could be gone, leaving the team with some significant rebuilding to do.
Several key players still need to decide whether to enter the NBA Draft or explore transfer options, and the backcourt, in particular, could see major changes heading into the 2025-26 season.
As part of their early offseason efforts, the Duke staff has begun working the transfer portal and is reportedly showing interest in Princeton standout guard.
According to The New York Times’ Adam Zagoria, Duke is among several programs reaching out to veteran star, joining a list that includes St. John’s, North Carolina, BYU, and Stanford.
Princeton point guard just capped off an impressive junior season, putting up 16.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 43.9% from the field and 36.6% from beyond the arc.
A First Team All-Ivy League selection in both 2024 and 2025, Lee has been one of the most dynamic and entertaining guards in college basketball over the past two seasons.
With Duke expected to lose the majority of its 2024-25 backcourt—Sion James has exhausted his eligibility, Tyrese Proctor is likely bound for the NBA, and Caleb Foster is a strong candidate to hit the transfer portal—the Blue Devils are likely to prioritize adding guard talent through the portal.

Standing 6’4″ and weighing 180 pounds, Lee is a proven scorer with the ability to create offense from all over the floor. He’s also a skilled playmaker and solid defender, making him an ideal fit for Jon Scheyer’s system.
As things stand, four-star freshman Cayden Boozer is projected to start at point guard for Duke next season, though Foster’s return could change that dynamic. However, bringing in an elite scorer like Lee would raise the Blue Devils’ offensive ceiling considerably, especially with talents like Isaiah Evans at shooting guard and Cameron Boozer, Shelton Henderson, and Nik Khamenia anchoring the frontcourt.
