It’s a new world in collegiate sports now, but we’re very sorry to hear the guard is leaving Duke Basketball.
That’s partly because she’s been at Duke for five seasons, including the year she missed due to a knee injury, and she’s definitely one of coach Kara Lawson’s favorites. Check out her glowing remarks for one of her first Duke recruits:
“She’s such a unique player, and I’ll always remember that… When you’re a rookie coach, you need certain kids who believe in you before everybody else. I could teach for another 20 years and never train a kid like de Jesus, with her team-first approach, work ethic, mentality, and willingness to give to everyone in the program.”
That is tremendous praise. She is going to be missed.
