Blockbuster Deal: Bills Officially Acquires Another Top Experienced Star a Potential Weapon for Josh Allen

The Buffalo Bills have made another move on the offensive side in free agency, reportedly signing wide receiver, according to Tom Pelissero. This marks their fourth offensive addition, joining WR Joshua Palmer, RB Darrynton Evans, and fan-favorite RB Ty Johnson. He also becomes the fourth player with West Coast ties to sign with Buffalo, following Palmer, Michael Hoecht, and Joey Bosa.

With this signing, the Bills add another potential weapon for Josh Allen, who can also contribute as a return specialist on special teams. Like many of their recent deals, His contract is for one year, as the team has only given two-year contracts to Palmer, Hoecht, and Johnson.

Top star was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft but has since bounced around the league. Now, at 26 years old, he joins his fifth team with the Buffalo Bills.

After spending his first two seasons in Jacksonville, He was traded to the Carolina Panthers, where he played from 2022 to 2023. He later signed with the Seattle Seahawks but appeared in only 11 games before being waived. The Los Angeles Chargers then claimed him, but he played in just one game before moving on again.

Signing of Laviska Shenault should be nothing more than potential depth

Shenault’s career has fallen short of the expectations that come with being a second-round pick. He has never surpassed 619 receiving yards in a season and hasn’t found the end zone since 2022. It’s difficult to envision him making a significant impact on Buffalo’s offense—let alone earning meaningful reps at wide receiver during training camp.

His role with the Bills may primarily be as a return specialist, adding competition in that area. Head coach Sean McDermott emphasizes competition and pushing players to reach their potential, so this could be an opportunity for Shenault to revive his career. However, there’s also a real possibility that he’s just a camp body and doesn’t make the final 53-man roster.

Regardless, he gives the team another option to evaluate during camp. At 26 years old, he’s still young enough to get a shot, but it will ultimately be up to him to prove he belongs.
