The Cleveland Browns and star pass rusher find themselves in a high-stakes game of “Employment Poker,” and the Buffalo Bills are eager to join the action. Back in 2022, the Bills made a bold move by signing Von Miller to a six-year, $120 million deal, hoping the Super Bowl 50 MVP could lead them to a championship. That plan didn’t quite pan out—so they’re ready to take another shot.
The 2023 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, has requested a trade, seeking an opportunity to play for a legitimate contender. He has even declined Cleveland’s offer to negotiate a more lucrative contract. At 29 years old, with doubts about the Browns’ ability to compete at the highest level, he is determined to move on. According to NFL insider Tony Pauline, the Bills are among the teams preparing to make an offer.
“I’m told the Bills will also put in a bid for Myles Garrett,” Pauline reported.
A former No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, Myles Garrett just completed a dominant season, leading the league with a career-high 22 tackles-for-loss along with 14 sacks. He has recorded double-digit sacks and tackles-for-loss in each of the past seven seasons. However, concerns over foot issues may require medical clearance before any trade, and teams will need to navigate the potential cost—both in trade assets and a possible contract extension.

If the Bills land Garrett, he would join a defense that ranked 11th in points allowed but lacked an elite pass rusher. No Bills player reached double-digit sacks in 2023, and only Gregory Rousseau managed double-digit tackles-for-loss (16) while leading the team with eight sacks. Pairing Rousseau with Garrett would immediately create one of the NFL’s top edge-rushing tandems, making Buffalo’s pursuit of the All-Pro defender a calculated risk worth taking.
