Kentrell Rinehart, a highly prolific running back out of Ohio, is recruited by NC State and quickly rises to the top of the Wolfpack class.
On Friday, running back Kentrell Rinehart of Galloway (Ohio) Westland committed to NC State.
The large back Rinehart had a choice of twenty-five offers. He is among the best players in the Wolfpack division.
WHAT KENTRELL RINEHART SAYS ABOUT NC STATE
Rinehart identified head coach Dave Doeren and running backs coach Todd Goebbel as key figures in his choice. Suge, also known as Alex Faulk, the director of recruiting, was involved as well.
“Coach D and Coach Goebbel made me feel at home the most and Coach Suge does a great job,” Rinehart stated. “Other programs that they offer and their engineering program for sure [were other factors], it’s one of the top in the country.”
WHO ELSE WAS IN THE MIX?
Rinehart received 25 proposals. He was in Minnesota for an official visit in June. He was also supposed to make stops in Iowa and Syracuse at different times. He agreed to an unofficial visit to Miami in the spring. Offers had come from Purdue, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, and other places.
WHERE KENTRELL RINEHART RANKS AS A RECRUIT
According to 247Sports, Rinehart is a higher end three-star (88 rating). He is Ohio’s No. 23 rising senior and the No. 45 running back in the country.
Based on ratings from several sources in the recruiting business, the 247Sports Composite ranks him as a four-star running back, ranking No. 31 in the class and No. 16 in Ohio.
HOW KENTRELL RINEHART FITS WITH NC STATE
RJ Boyd is another running back for the Wolfpack in this class. However, we know they like to have multiple backs in the rotation because they had three backs with between 50 and 100 carries the previous season.
Even though Kendrick Rapahel, a freshman who carried the ball 67 times, is a younger player in the backfield, Rinehart will still have a chance to enter the game and be a regular because of his physical characteristics.
They have been recruiting Ohioans a bit more, and a year ago, they made a great discovery in Chase Bond. They now include Rinehart in this class and keep making progress in a state that generates talented football players.
One of the top four commits in the class right now is Rinehart.
OUR VIEWS OF KENTRELL RINEHART
Rinehart has 3,003 all-purpose yards and 46 touchdowns in his breakout season at Bishop Ready.
He is now moving to Westland, where he will face different competition, but we still anticipate that he will continue to produce high-quality work.
At 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds, he appears to be more than prepared for college. He is capable of handling a demanding task since he is well-rounded and has experience with it.
He is not only a pounder; he is a bigger back with north-south running ability. He possesses considerable wiggle room and a modest niftiness in traffic, and he can get away from opponents.
We don’t have a measurement of his speed or agility because he hasn’t attended many camps or been timed at competitions, but considering how many longer runs he has broken for his stature, we believe he has plenty of top end given his other traits.
