Oregon secured a Fourth of July recruiting victory with a commitment from five-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore on Thursday night, defeating Texas, LSU, and Ohio State to the pledge of the No. 1 wide out and top uncommitted talent in the 2025 class.
Moore, a 5-foot-11, 185-pound pass catcher from Duncanville, Texas, is the No. 3 overall recruit in the 2025 ESPN 300. He becomes the Ducks’ 11th ESPN 300 pledge in 2025 and the highest-rated talent in Dan Lanning’s incoming class. According to ESPN rankings, Moore is Oregon’s highest-rated commitment since landing Kayvon Thibodeaux as the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2019 class.
Moore, a two-time Texas 6A Division I state champion at Duncanville High School, committed to LSU in August 2023 as the second-highest-rated talent in the Tigers’ 2025 class before withdrawing from the program on May 16.
Brian Kelly and the Tigers remained in contention for Moore’s pledge after he reopened his recruitment in the spring, and he paid official visits to Ohio State, LSU, Texas, and Oregon from the last weekend of May to late June. At the end of one of the most closely watched races of the summer, the Ducks were able to entice Moore to Oregon, securing a significant recruiting triumph for Lanning and wide receiver coach Junior Adams.

Moore commits to the Ducks ahead of his senior season at Duncanville High, where he will return as one of Texas’ most decorated high school prospects following back-to-back state football championships.
Moore received numerous Power 4 offers following his sophomore season in 2022, when he caught 44 receptions for 764 yards and six touchdowns. Moore, who caught passes from Alabama commit Keelon Russell (No. 32 in ESPN 300), had a phenomenal statistical season on his way to another state championship last fall, totaling 1,532 yards on 71 receptions and 18 touchdowns. Moore was a crucial member of Duncanville’s track team, helping the Panthers win the 6A state championship in the 4×200 relay earlier this year.
Moore is Lanning’s highest-ranked recruit during his time in Eugene and a tent-pole candidate for Oregon in 2025. Moore joins top offensive recruits such as four-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson (No. 6 WR in 2025), quarterback Akili Smith Jr. (No. 9 pocket passer), running back Jordon Davison (No. 5 running back), and athlete Dierre Hill. Oregon’s incoming defensive class is led by athletes Dorian Brew (No. 5 ATH in 2025), Brandon Finney (No. 7 ATH), and linebacker Nasir Wyatt (No. 11 OLB).
According to ESPN, the Ducks’ total 2025 recruiting class ranked 22nd nationally.
