Breaking News: Red Raiders land big commitment for another standout star

On Thursday, the Texas Tech announced the signing of Chloe Riassetto, a Louisiana Lafayette transfer. Riassetto, a pitcher, spent the previous two seasons under coach Gerry Glasco and joins the Red Raiders after posting a 2.56 ERA and 15 wins in 2024.

Riassetto, a Friendswood, Texas native, will begin her junior year as a Red Raider. Over 19 games, the lefty posted an amazing 78.9 victory percentage. The pinnacle of her 2024 season came against No. 1 Oklahoma, as she pitched a full eight-inning game to enable the Ragin’ Cajuns pull off a historic upset. She also won rated matches against Baylor, Texas State, and Baylor again in the NCAA Regional.

Riassetto spent her freshman season mostly in the bullpen, making only one start in 22 appearances but making the most of her opportunities, posting a 2-1 record with three saves. Riassetto also recorded 78 strikeouts and 39 walks in 167 innings.

She was named to the All-Sun Belt Conference Second Team for her season performance, as well as the 2024 College Sports Communicator Academic All-District Team for her classroom success.

“Chloe has worked really hard to become one of the elite pitchers in college softball,” said Glasco. “As a sophomore last season, she had big wins against four top-15 teams, including Oklahoma. She also excels in the classroom and is the type of student-athlete we want to build our program around. Chloe always prioritizes her team, which sets the tone for a successful team and program. I am ecstatic to have her join us in Lubbock.”
