Texas Tech has received a commitment from 2025 three-star offensive lineman Garin Maley, who revealed his decision on social media Sunday following an official visit over the weekend. Inside the Red Raiders spoke with the 6-foot-5, 250-pound three-star recruit from Papillion-La Vista High School in Nebraska about his decision to commit to Texas Tech.

“I had a feeling that I didn’t have at any of the other schools, it just felt right,” Maley told me. “Talking with all of the coaches and spending time with all of the players was extremely important to me. I felt like a priority, and I fit in with their offense. Coach Joey McGuire and Clay McGuire were both present when I stated that I was ready to commit. We were all quite excited, and I felt relieved knowing that I had made the right decision.

Maley certainly had a fantastic time during his official visit over the weekend, but he went into more depth about his stay in Lubbock.

“I had Jackson Kimble the offensive line grad assistant (host me)–me and him hit it off straight immediately,” Maley said.” He played a significant role in my decision to go to Texas Tech. He addressed all of my questions and kept things genuine with me! “I love that guy!!”

Daniel Sill, a redshirt freshman offensive tackle, hosted Maley during the visit.

“My player host was Daniel Sill, me and him also hit it off right away,” Maley went on. “It was excellent to spend time with him and ask questions that helped me make my decision. He performed an excellent job, and I appreciate everything he did.

Maley selected Texas Tech over reported offers from Eastern Michigan, Harvard, Oregon State, Princeton, and Yale. According to the 247Sports Composite, the three-star recruit is ranked as the No. 1,274 overall player in the country, the No. 100 offensive tackle in the country, and the No. 11 overall talent in Nebraska.

Maley is ranked as the No. 134 offensive tackle in the nation by 247Sports, as well as the No. 9 overall recruit in Nebraska.
Maley stated that he is willing to play whichever position will get him on the field the fastest at Texas Tech. Last season, Maley played both sides of the ball for Papillion-La Vista High School in Nebraska. He started at offensive tackle and had 20 tackles, 6.5 stops for loss, and 4.5 sacks on defense. He intends to enter next summer instead of early in order to play his senior basketball season.

ITRR asked Maley to define his game and what he brings to the gridiron.

“I bring elite athleticism, high football IQ and a desire to beat the person in front of me every play,” Maley told the media.

Maley is the second offensive lineman and 15th overall prospect to commit to Texas Tech’s 2025 recruiting class, which is currently ranked 28th in the USA and sixth in the Big 12 conference.
