In their most recent commitment, the Badgers recruited another long, athletic cornerback.
The Wisconsin Badgers have received a commitment from 2025 three-star cornerback Jahmare Washington, he revealed on Sunday.
Washington’s commitment marks the Badgers’ fourth during official visits, following cornerback Rukeem Stroud, offensive lineman Logan Powell, and Nolan Davenport.
The Badgers extended an offer to Washington in February and worked hard to secure an official visit, which was originally scheduled for next weekend.
However, Washington elected to extend his visit one weekend, resulting in the commitment following his formal visit this past weekend.
Washington, a 6’2″, 170-pound cornerback, possesses the prototypical length and agility that the Badgers have sought in their outside cornerbacks and will be the class’s second cornerback, joining Stroud.
Additionally, the Badgers might use athlete Remington Moss at cornerback, as his 6’3, 185-pound body fits at both defensive back positions.
Overall, Washington becomes the Badgers’ sixth defensive back commit, joining Moss, Stroud, Grant Dean, Luke Emmerich, and Jaimier Scott in another strong class at the position during the Luke Fickell era.
Washington, an Illinois native, was one of the Badgers’ top cornerback targets, alongside Tre Poteat and Zadian Gentry, both of whom visited last weekend.
He is the first of this weekend’s visitors to pledge, and the 15th overall for the Badgers in the 2025 class.
