The senior will exit the postseason with at least one ring.
Ty Bothwell, an Indiana baseball pitcher, will win at least one ring from this year’s NCAA Tournament run.
The senior proposed to his girlfriend following the Hoosiers’ 10-4 victory against Southern Miss in the Knoxville
Regional. Bothwell’s arm was vital in Indiana’s victory, finishing with 5.2 IP, 7 H, and 2 ER.
He then caught up with his girlfriend outside on the edge of the field to take a photo. Bothwell dug into his back pocket during the shot before dropping down on one knee and proposing a ring.
A phenomenal performance for Ty Bothwell today!

The proposal was the result of a bet between Bothwell and his head coach, Jeff Mercer, according to Nick Rodecap of the Indiana Daily Student. If Indiana advanced to the postseason, Bothwell would propose during the regional.
Bothwell, a redshirt senior, has gradually progressed throughout his five years with the team and was vital in advancing the Hoosiers to the winners’ bracket.
