Breaking: Another Top Experienced Star Lands Commitment With Indiana

Former Michigan State football defensive end Andrew Depaepe, who entered the transfer portal at the end of spring ball, was one of the final departures who had yet to find a new home.

We watched as Simeon Barrow committed to Miami, Derrick Harmon to Oregon, Jaden Mangham to Michigan (gross), Ethan Boyd to Colorado, Geno VanDeMark to Alabama, and Bai Jobe to Kansas. Michigan State has had a hectic spring of departures.

Depaepe was still seeking for a new home, but it appears he’s heading to another Big Ten program.

In fact, Depaepe is on his way to Indiana after deliberating for a few weeks, and he is expected to be a vital part in the defensive line rotation for Curt Cignetti’s rebuilding Hoosiers.

While this move is unusual because Indiana is not recognized for having a strong football program, Depaepe is actually joining his younger brother William, a three-star in the Hoosiers’ 2024 class.

It only makes logical that the two will attend the same program at the next level and benefit from each other’s experiences. It’s a terrific landing location for Depaepe, since he’ll get plenty of playing time.

This was a devastating loss for the Spartans since it appeared that Depaepe would have a significant influence at Michigan State, and the same could be said with Bai Jobe, but neither played much during the Mel Tucker era before entering the portal. They needed a fresh start.

When Depaepe isn’t up against Michigan State, it’ll be easy to root for him.
