Oregon DB Collin Gill announced his new home on Thursday morning, moving from the transfer portal to Temple.
Former Oregon redshirt freshman defensive back Collin Gill submitted his name into the transfer portal after the Ducks’ spring game and has now declared his commitment on social media.
Gill revealed on Thursday morning that he would be attending Temple University, marking his return to the Eastern Seaboard from Washington, D.C.
Gill, a consensus three-star recruit, received no playing time during the 2023 regular season, earning him redshirt status at his next program. Gill began his career as a cornerback in high school but spent most of his time at safety during fall camp. Gill, who is 6-foot-215 pounds, has the physical stature to play at the next level as a safety.
Gill, a native of Waldorf, MD, attended St. John’s College HS in Washington, D.C., where he was ranked as the No. 1264 player in the nation, the No. 116 cornerback, and the No. 6 player in D.C. by 247Sports Composite. Gill was listed as the No. 77 cornerback and the No. 5 player in Washington, D.C.
Gill was approached by former Oregon coaches Demetrice Martin and Carlos Locklyn. Gill chose Oregon over Akron, Appalachian State, Boston College, and others.
He is one of seven Ducks from the 2023 class to enter the transfer portal.
